Customizing DPP categories and attributes


If you have the Categories permission on your PicoNext account, you can customize the categories and attributes that appear in the DPP Planner and in Token Explorer.

These categories are available in DPP Planner, as well as in the drop-down category filter menu that end-users see when viewing a Digital Product Passport in Token Explorer.

Custom categories and attributes are also made available when using the PicoNext Enterprise APIs. 


Customize a category label

To customize a standard category label, do the following:

1. Navigate to Settings

2. Press Platform Settings

3. Under the Standard categories tab, enter new labels for the categories

4. Press Save

The category labels in DPP Planner will now reflect your new category labels, as well as the Token Explorer category drop-down filter.

Add a custom category or attribute

If the standard sustainability categories or attributes don't meet your needs, you can add a custom category or attribute. To add a custom category/attribute, do the following:

1. Navigate to Settings

2. Press Platform Settings

3. Press the Custom categories tab. 

4. Press Add category and enter the new custom category name

5. To add a custom attribute in your category, press the Add template attribute within your custom category.

6. Enter a name for your custom attribute.

7. Press Save

The categories in the DPP Planner and Token Explorer category drop-downs will now reflect your new custom categories/attributes.

Note: Custom categories and attributes, once added, cannot be deleted.

You can, however, modify the category label for a custom category if you decide a different title would more accurately reflect the category name. 

You can also modify the title of a custom attribute.
