The Digital Product Passport Planner (DPP Planner) tool allows you to organize the sustainability information for your product, and prepare it in a Digital Product Passport, either on a blockchain, or in the cloud. You can load templates that contain sustainability attributes for your product, input sustainability data, and then send data events containing that sustainability attributes to your product.
To create a new DPP Planner product:
1. Tap on the DPP Planner item in the PicoNext console.
2. Press the New button.
If you have an existing DPP Planner product that you've already created, you can clone it by pressing the Clone button.
If you have an existing DPP Planner product that you want to edit, you can press the product name, or the Edit icon to begin editing it.
3. Begin creating your DPP Planner product by filling the Product details section, adding data fields to your DPP using the Sustainability info section, and then adding Digital Product Passport data to your data fields
4. Begin creating your DPP Planner product by filling out the product name (required). You can also add a brief description, and upload an image or video for your product.
For Cloud-based DPPs: You can publish DPPs in the cloud by changing the Cloud publish status field. In the DPP Planner product list, you can then use links to view the DPP in a browser, or download a QR code that opens the cloud-based DPP.
For Blockchain DPPs: If you have the Minting permission from your account admin, you can tap the Send product to Minting button to immediately save the DPP Planner product, and copy the product details to the Mint Tokens screen, where you can either create a token on a blockchain or in the cloud.
5. In the Sustainability info section, you can load sustainability attributes into your DPP by selecting from Load template, Add attributes, or Save new template.
To load a pre-designed template of sustainability attributes, tap on one of the pre-loaded templates in the Load template section. PicoNext comes with a collection of pre-designed templates with commonly used attribute categories for the product class, like Footwear, Apparel and others. Tapping on a template will immediately replace all data in your DPP Planner product with the new categories and blank data fields. If you have saved custom templates for your organization, they will appear under the Company section of the Load template tab, and the pre-loaded templates will appear under the General section.
In the Add attributes tab, you can find commonly used sustainability attributes to add to your DPP Planner product. Add an attribute to your DPP Planner product by selecting a sustainability category, and then selecting an attribute by tapping the Add button on the tile. Alternatively, you can enter part of an attribute's name in the search box to filter for the attribute, and then tap on the Add button on the tile. The new attribute will be placed at the bottom of your DPP Planner for you to add data to it.
In the Save new template tab, you can save the current attributes in your DPP Planner product as a new template that can be used by you or other users in your account to easily create additional Digital Product Passports. Enter a new template name, and then press Save new template. The sustainability attributes currently loaded in your DPP Planner product will be saved in a new template, and will appear in the Load template tab, under the Company section. Note that saving a new template only copies the sustainability attributes to a new template, without any of the corresponding data that you may have entered in.
5. With sustainability attributes loaded into your DPP Planner product, you can collect and save data - including text, images, links and more - and prepare your Digital Product Passport.
To learn more about the individual options for adding data in a DPP Planner product data field, view the article Filling out the DPP Data Event data field
To delete a DPP data field from your DPP Planner product, press on the red Delete icon next to the DPP data field. This will remove the DPP data field from your DPP Planner product. When you next save your DPP Planner product, it will be fully removed from the DPP Planner product. If you remove a DPP data field in error, you can revert to the last saved version of your DPP Planner product by pressing Cancel at the bottom of your DPP Planner product, and loading the product again.
6. Make sure to save the information you've entered in your DPP Planner product, by pressing the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
The DPP Planner allows you to collect and prepare your DPP data, in advance of publishing it as a live Digital Product Passport.
For Cloud-based DPPs: To publish your Digital Product Passport, change the Cloud publish status field in DPP Planner to Published in Cloud. You can then use links in the DPP Planner product list to open the DPP in a browser, or to download a QR code that links to the DPP.
For Blockchain DPPs: To publish your Digital Product Passport, you'll first need to create a token of your product. Then use the DPP Data Events capability of PicoNext to attach sustainability events to your DPP token.
