This tutorial walks you the steps of creating a cloud-based Digital Product Passport to show sustainability information to your customers.
We'll first use the DPP Planner tool to organize product information - including basic product details and sustainability attributes. Then, we'll create a token of the product, and then attach sustainability data to that token.
1A - Navigate to the PicoNext Console. To begin, navigate to the PicoNext Console sign-in screen at https://console.piconext.com/
1B - Sign in to PicoNext. Use the email and temporary password you received in your welcome email to sign in, and make sure to select the correct region (Global or Europe). If you're signing in for the first time, you'll be prompted to change your temporary password.
2A - Navigate to DPP Planner. Next, press the DPP Planner icon in the Console Home screen.
2B - Create a new DPP Planner product. Press the New button, to begin creating a new product in DPP Planner.
2C - Fill out product name and description. Enter the name for your product, as well as a short production description you would like users to see when viewing your DPP.
2D - Attach a product image or video.
(1) Begin attaching a product image or video by pressing the Select media button.
(2) In the media library, press the Upload tab.
(3) Press the Select files button.
(4) Navigate to the location of your media file on your device, select it, and then press Open, or Select.
(5) To upload the file into the main folder, continue to the next step. To upload the file into a named folder, press the Add folder button, then enter a folder name.
(6) Press Start Upload to begin uploading your media to PicoNext.
When your media is uploading, you'll see a progress bar.
(7) When your media is finished uploading, press Open media library
(8) Locate the media you uploaded, and press its thumbnail image to add it to your DPP Planner Product.
You've successfully added a product image or video to your DPP Planner product.
3A - Select a sustainability template. DPP Planner includes a variety of pre-formed sustainability templates, with commonly used attributes companies report about their products. Select a sustainability template to quickly begin adding attributes about your product.
3B - Confirm adding the sustainability template. Confirm that you wish to add the sustainability template to DPP Planner. Note: This will replace all data in your DPP Planner product with a new, blank template.
3C - Customize the sustainability attributes for your DPP Planner product. After you've loaded a sustainability template for your DPP Planner product, you can customize it by adding or removing individual sustainability attributes.
(1) Add a sustainability attribute.
To add a sustainability attribute to your template, select the Add attributes tab.
Then, you can either browse the library of sustainability attributes, search for a specific sustainability attribute, or add a blank sustainability item. When you've located the sustainability attribute you'd like to add to your template press the Plus icon, and it will be added at the bottom of your template.
(2) Remove a sustainability attribute.
To remove a sustainability attribute from your template, press the Delete icon next to it. This will remove the sustainability attribute, as well as any content you've entered for it.
3D - Add product information. For each attribute, add your product sustainability information to it. You can include text to describe your product information. In some PicoNext plans, you can also include images and Web links. Additionally, if your PicoNext plan supports it, you can also change the category of your attribute, and include a Reported date for it.

4A - Publish your DPP
To save and publish your DPP Planner product, ensure the Cloud publish status field is set to Published in Cloud.
Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and press the Save button. This will save the information in your DPP, and publish it in the cloud.
After your DPP has been published in the cloud, you can view it and share the link with others. To view your DPP, do the following:
5A - Locate your DPP in DPP Planner. After publishing your DPP in the cloud, you'll be redirected to the list of products you've created within DPP Planner.
5B - View your Digital Product Passport. To view your Digital Product Passport, do one of the following:
View in a browser. Locate and press the External Link icon for your DPP. This will open your DPP in a new window, and display the sustainability data you've attached to your product.
Download a QR code. Alternatively, you can download a QR code that links to your Digital Product Passport by pressing the QR code icon. Then, select whether you'd like a transparent background or a white background for your QR code.
